I’m here to make it as easy and special as possible.

Initial consultation

I'm available to catch up in person or on Zoom to get to know each other and start chatting through ideas for your ceremony design.

Notice of Intended Marriage

After our initial catch up, you will lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage [PDF 883.06 KB]. This is due at least 1 month before the date of your wedding ceremony.

After receiving your NOIM, I am required to give you the Happily Ever… Before and After brochure [PDF 49.03 KB]. This document explains:

  • the process of getting married in Australia

  • some important legal consequences of getting married, and

  • where relationship support services, such as marriage education, family counselling or dispute resolution services may be obtained.

Ceremony design & rehearsal

In preparation for your big day, we will stay in touch and collaborate on your ceremony design. You are welcome to organise another catch up to finalise your ceremony design together. You are also welcome to book a rehearsal with your bridal party in the week before your wedding.

Declaration of no legal impediment to marriage

As close as possible to your wedding ceremony, you must both sign the Declaration of no legal impediment to marriage [PDF 889.98 KB]. By signing the Declaration, you declare that you believe that you are of marriageable age, and that there is no legal impediment to your marriage.

The big day

You need two witnesses at your wedding ceremony, to:

  • Witness the ceremony

  • Sign the marriage certificates.

Witnesses can be any family member or friend who is at least 18 years old.

There are 3 documents you will sign during the ceremony:

After your wedding

Within 14 days of the ceremony, I will register your marriage with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the State or Territory where your marriage took place.

Once your marriage is registered, you can apply for a legal marriage certificate, which can be used for official purposes as proof of your marriage.
